Information Literacy

Information Literacy and Research Skills is offered as part of the University's curriculum.  The course - EN 106 - was designed to assist students with developing and enhancing research skills - and is usually taught within the first semester for new students.

We are happy to work with the instructor and students on a variety of topics related to information literacy.  These topics may include the following:

  • use of the online catalog,
  • using the library
  • use of online databases,
  • critical evaluation of information sources,
  • use of particular resources or materials in specific subject areas,
  • research strategy and more.

Instructors are encouraged to contact the Librarian to discuss how such instruction may fit with their courses and help students achieve the desired learning outcomes.
